SANTANA’S BURRITO SHOP….*****roaring applauses and spanish style ranchero car horns heard from miles away*****
Yes, indeedy. The census is in. Santana’s burrito shop’s green pepper salsa is the salsa that will make doodoo on a stick taste like the best doodoo on a stick you’ve ever tasted. I’ve been a burrito base head since I moved to San Diego in 1998. It’s known, in the small of community of Mexican taco shops, that the food is only as good as its salsa. I have had the good, the bad, and the one time when I got food poisoning off of a carne sada burrito…then I went back to that same burrito shop and ate the same thing again. One food poisoning episode out of 10,000 visits isn’t too bad. So, I think my choice has plenty validity and credit to back it.
This salsa packs just enough zest in the heat department. The lime after taste it leaves is suprisingly welcoming. The flavor is not overwhelming as to cover the taste of the actual food item you’re putting it on, however, it compliments the food so much that you can’t eat a bite without it.
Anybody care to challenge Santana’s green salsa??????
