[Art: Collin Flatt/Eater Philly]It’s official: as first reported by Eater Philly, on April 12 Momofuku chef David Chang and Roots drummer Questlove will have a fried chicken battle on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. What started out as a war of words on Twitter will now be settled with a televised event.
Momofuku operatives confirmed the news to Eater (“It’s on. #teamchang“), and Questlove tells Eater Philly that he’s working on getting a celebrity panel to judge the fried fray for the show. This will be greasy.
Update: Questlove’s people reached out to Eater and said that the fried chicken cook-off is unconfirmed on their end. Check back for an update soon…
