Ladies, I do my own laundry. Impressive? Maybe to a mindless chickenhead. A good pick up line? Abso-freakin’-lutely.

What does the above gibberish have to do with Mr. Fish and Chips? It actually has everything to do with it. Situated in the Clairemont area of sexy San Diego, Mr. Fish and Chips is just steps away from where I do my laundry. Let me go on a tangent right quick.

Socially, I would say I am mediocre. I’m not the gnarly guy attempting faith with beer bongs, monkey climbing chandeliers and taking 4 fallacious women home at the end of the night nor am I the timid nerd squatting at the most isolated corner of the venue afraid to speak to strangers. Sometimes I’ll cut a rug on the dance floor and other times I’ll just marinate and place my dancing shoes aside. Sometimes I’ll exchange flirty words with a beautiful, young Marilyn and other times I just want to chill and have a peaceful, silent adult beverage all by my solo. Yet, as weird as it sounds, the place where I am socially potent is the laundry mat. I think this is so because there are only so many places in the world that I can fold my History Channel boxers while conversating with a girl that is comfortably folding her Hello Kitty panties in front of me. It’s a place that is personable from the word go. Plus, there is no loud crappy music and annoying drunks to tug of war with. Awkward initial meetings are absent in the laundry mat because it’s like BOOM! “See my holy moly socks; there are your vintage minstrel cycle panties…Hello, what is your name?”

Now, back to the nitty gritty. While my moist clothes are on its 45 minute drying cycle I always stop by Mr. Fish and Chips for their puffy french fries and hypnotizing clam chowder. I then bring my morsels to the laundry mat and eat the most peaceful meal ever; it’s quite therapeutic. Their fried fish is “mmmmm mmmmm mmmm” delicious. When walking up to the counter you are always welcomed with a “What can I get for you, hun?” It’s a real homely feeling as soon as you step in the establishment. There is evidence on the wall showing how much of a history they have had in the community. So, if you ever meet a girl at the laundry mat, ask her this: “When you throw your clothes in the dryer, I was wondering if you would like to join me in a meal at Mr. Fish and Chips just 3 stores down.” And then flex your biceps 2 inches from her face. If she goes with you, I guarantee that you will be practicing making babies with her in the next couple hours. Clams are an aphrodisiac, sooooooooo

Hey Dan, Yessir I must co-sign Woodies. I always get a plain dog with their chili fries. Then catch a movie right around the corner.

By the way, I like your site. Glad to see others showing praise to the local SD eats.
