Original story below:

Akron, Oh./Rochester, NY — Earlier this week, Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford slam dunked a basketball over LeBron James himself. It is a shot that would no doubt have made its way onto YouTube and all over the internet and major television networks if not for one problem. After consulting with LeBron, Nike officials who ran the camp confiscated the video from two photographers who were filming the game. One of those photographers is Ryan Miller, a Syracuse University graduate who grew up in Chili. “LeBron came over to help, and they both went up about the same time, a two handed dunk. It was a good dunk, but the LeBron James factor made it a better dunk,” Miller said.It certainly did. Except for the fact that moments after he had introduced himself to James, who was taking a break from the game, Miller witnessed LeBron speaking to Lynn Merritt, the Senior Director of Nike Basketball.

Along with a media representative from the camp, Merritt approached Miller following his conversation with James. “He just kept telling him (the media rep) ‘take his tape, take his tape,’” Miller told 13WHAM on Thursday.

“Everytime I would try to explain who I was filming for and why it wasn’t against the policy, he didn’t want to hear it and kept saying ‘take his tape.’”

Nike has since said that Miller was filming at a time when he wasn’t supposed to be shooting any video. Miller says that he cleared his filming through the camp’s media representative, but that he never got a chance to see if he even captured the dunk on video.

“I haven’t seen the tape. I don’t know if I shot it well, what it ended up turning out to be like. I don’t know if the tape is destroyed, if they threw it out, or what,” Miller said.

As soon as word leaked out that LeBron James had been dunked on, and that Miller’s video was confiscated by Nike, he’s been something of a local celebrity, with interviews on ESPN’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Fox News, and several internet blogging websites.

“I had 100 e-mails from people wanting to see what happened, friends telling me that ESPN radio was asking me to call their hotline, and this morning I had a few interviews set up. I thought that would be it, but they’ve just kept coming and coming.”
