Foods you loved as a kid but no longer love as an adult

filipino squid recipe Foods you loved as a kid but no longer love as an adult

This post first came to be when a couple of days ago I was hanging out with my good friend Agdo. His fiancé and her girlfriend said they were going to go to the restaurant downstairs and get some sweets. I said, “Yay!”, they said, “Yay!”, Agdo said, “Yay” and it was a yay-for-all. When they got back I took one scoop of cake, ate it and later enjoyed one more scoop of cake…and that was it for the night. If that was the 8 year old version of me in front of that free cake, I would have demolished it until I saw the bottom of the cardboard. And would have probably licked the cardboard clean. But 29 year Caleb got all, “Two scoops is mighty fine with me” all in an English accent, all posh and shit. The reason why I only took two scoops of cake is that too much sweets don’t taste good to me anymore. This got me thinking; are there any other foods out there I used to love as a child that I don’t enjoy now as an adult?????

I only could think of one. My dear old, ancient friend Filipino squid. Filipino Squid would make for a great electro band name. They’d have a black percussionist that would have a red Mohawk and an Indian guitarist that would only wear suits. I used to devour me some Filipino style squid. I tried some a few months ago when I visited my Grandma and it doesn’t have the luster it had when I was a child. It was a sad day. I actually went into the rental car, hopped in the trunk and cried a bit.

So, are there any foods that you enjoyed as a child that you don’t enjoy now as an adult?
