Divine Secrets of the Veggie Soup: Reset Your Mind, Body, and Soul

For most of us, soup coincides with illness. So with that said, I’d say about 90 percent of us eat soup only when we’re sick. And I’m not talking about that 1.2 ounce bowl of mizo soup alongside your sushi; I’m talking about the main course IS the soup. Come closer kimosabi. <enter whisper voice> Do you want to know a secret? I haven’t brushed my teeth for 3 days. Here’s another secret: Soup can be the key to your well being mentally, physically, and spiritually <exit whisper voice>. Yes, you heard it right you crazy critter. Soup can reenergize you 10 times better than any of those toxic energy drinks. Imagine a field of colorful veggies. You can feel and look as vibrate as the colors of those vegetables. Now, Imagine a pasture of Red Bull and Monster energy drinks. You too can roll the dice of diabetes, cancer, arthritis, Lou Garrets disease, and herpes. Ya heard me?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the entire planet Earth, I admit that I am not a nutrition specialist. In fact, I was kicked out of high school in the 12th grade for claiming that I was a nutrition expert. It was a very bizarre and classy school (like Harry Potter’s stupid ass school). However, despite my pitfalls in formal education, I can guarantee you that a simple homemade veggie soup packs more energy than a <guess who> packs fudge. Soup does not only provide loads of energy, but it’s a goldmine of antioxidants. Antioxidants will help get rid of those toxic chemicals in your body, which in turn will make you feel a whole lot better. Don’t forget that soup is like 70% water, so while you are souping you are also hydrating your body. Thus, your skin, teeth, and hair are getting worked over too. Just look at soup eating as an oil change for human beings. Did I mention that a healthy bowl of soup will help raise your libido (the chemical in your body that makes you go “bang, bang, bang….BOOM….meow…rarrr….smack….zap…pow, pow” with the girlfriend a lot harder and longer). *wink, wink* Man, what CAN’T this soup thing do?

Divine Secrets of the Veggie Soup: Reset Your Mind, Body, and Soul

At least once a month I make some veggie soup (and tea), sit at the dining table, open a book (okay, a magazine, but I said book because chicks dig dudes who read books), and just overdose into a nice intellectual, healthy bliss. This monthly ritual is very therapeutic. Sound a little too Woodstocky for you? Are you just too ice cold for this hippy mumbo jumbo? Too cool for school? Well, I will tell you this much Mr. and Mrs. “I only eat meat”: I hope you enjoy your life because it will be short lived or a long lived diseased filled one. Seriously though, if you can’t stand a veggie only meal, you can always throw any type of meat in your soup. I usually toss in a few chicken drumsticks…and chicken guitars and keyboards.

Do you need an easy recipe for soup? If you can lick your own elbow I will give you one. Whoa   you are very talented! Okay, all you need to do is gather up your favorite vegetables, fill a large pot 75% full of water, toss in your ingrediants, and boil your mix at a medium heat for about 30-45 minutes (make sure to stir every now and again). If you want to add some extra “zing” to your soup, you can find many soup powder mixes at your local grocery store. I find lots of tasty soup mixes in asian supermarkets. All you have to do is throw these powders in the mix. Also, like I said above, you can always throw in some pig, cow, chicken, or fish to pep your soup’s step.

 Tamarind soup base. Interesting. I always thought that was more of a drink flavor.

@ Katlin, It’s been proven that a hearty bowl of soup and a good exercise regime will make you *hump, hump* like a champion…or like a man a couple hours fresh from prison.
